Hennepin-Carver Workforce Development Board Website

The Hennepin-Carver Workforce Development Board is one of Minnesota’s 16 local workforce boards, designated under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014. The Board guides the design of local workforce development efforts throughout suburban Hennepin County and Carver County, including oversight and operation of CareerForce locations.

The Need

The Hennepin Carver Workforce Development Board needed a simple partner-owned website to establish a digital presence to communicate its work to its members and interested party. They wanted a vendor that had in-depth knowledge in website planning, design, content support + management, accessibility standards, and hosting solutions.

The Solution

To effectively communicate with their key audiences, the newly created WordPress website had to have an effective information architecture, user-friendly interface, relevant content, and of course reflect a custom design. The website complied with existing federal and Minnesota State website accessibility laws/rules/guidelines.

We assisted their web team in developing a plan to migrate existing content from an array of places into the website. All content was created with WYSIWYG editors so that board members/web team were able to manage and edit content on their own.
